The fuss about the AGNIPATH scheme 2022?

 

Since the Agnipath scheme was launched, people, especially aspirants went nervous and in some areas, they are destroying public properties. Some feel that this will change the security forces' recruitment process for youngsters. We must see all the aspects of the scheme in brief.

What is the AGNIPATH scheme all about?

It will give the younger generation a chance to serve the country on a contractual basis for 4 years. Army, Navy, and Airforce will recruit individuals from the age limit between 17.5 to 23. Both males and females can be enrolled in this scheme, there are no reservations for any categories, and around 46,000 candidates will be selected. One will be selected based on merit lists. After completing the contract, out of all 25% of AGNIVEER (cadre) will be selected based on merit and will be retained regularly. These selected candidates will get a chance to serve the nation for another 15 years. During this four-year tenure, one can graduate from an open university at the government's cost.  

This is 4 years course and only 3% of total recruitment, the rest of 97% of recruitment will be done as per the normal procedure. SO NO NEED TO PANIC.

What will happen to the remaining 75% AGNIVEER?

They will be demobilized with a 'SEVA NIDHI' package of Rs 11-12 lakhs as well as a skilled certificate. These students will be given first preference to paramilitary forces and corporates. 

AND GUESS WHAT? The first recruitment rally for the Indian Airforce will start on 24 June 2022 and for the Indian Army from 9 July 2022 so don't let go of this opportunity.

For your services, you will be paid by the Government, first-year salary package is Rs. 4.76 lakhs with the advancement of up to 6.92 lakhs in the fourth year, and when if you exit, a 'SEVA NIDHI' package of 11-12 lakhs, partly funded from your monthly contribution and the Government.

In countries like Israel, Norway, North Korea, and Sweden where it is compulsory for youths to spend some years in forces, the same way in India Agneevir is a good initiative taken by GOI where youth get a choice and chance to join forces and serve the country. Age between 16- 23 is an age when youth are confused and the chances of choosing the wrong path are more.
